Oh but you see, this is not PlatinumVerb we are talking about, here. It is PlatinumVerb N. It opens new doors, to a much broader horizon of sonic reflections. JohnG Senior Member. I have a ton of reverbs and – similar to you – recently went through some of my old projects to see which reverbs I liked best since I had long forgotten what I used in the mixes. Similar experience, but my hallelujah moment was discovering ProTools DVerb was my secret sauce back then. Oh well. Trusty ol’ SP beats many moms’ some reverbs! Predelay lets you add additional delay before the initial reflection, which can both increase the apparent size of the room and get the reverb out from under the audio signal, for better clarity in a mix.

Both Space Designer and ChromaVerb offer excellent reverb and effects, and either could serve as the main—or only—reverb for a mix. More articles by this author. Joe is a musician, engineer, and producer in NYC.

So I checked the channel strip and saw logics stock platinum reverb there on a send, but I continued to search for the good reverb, as I thought the old stock plugin Platinum Reverb cannot be THE reverb.

Well, yes, it was! And man, it sounded great. So I saved the preset as Peter Platinum reverb, and wanted to use it in my current project. Also on a send track, I checked every detail on how much send too. Afterall, that sounded like the best reverb there is out there. It was like a panic feeling, what, had they really dished the best reverb there is? Checked on internet and apparently you could hold in a button and find it under a hidden “legacy” feature. Ok, found it and picked it back in the arsenal.

So I got a great reverb now for all my projects. The best sounding reverb, Logic Platinum Reverb on a send track. I keep the settings as a secret, it is my secret weapon now. Click to read more Petrucci Active Member.

Interesting, gotta try it Chromaverb is nice too actually. PeterN said:. Click to expand ReelToLogic Still have my reel-to-reel. For quiet recordings, you may need to turn the threshold towards or -infinity dB or increase the input gain towards 0 dB.

For loud recordings, turn the threshold towards 0 dB, or reduce the input gain towards -infinity dB. If you turn the threshold towards 0 and the bus is un-muted, you will hear that it cuts out more and more of the output because the compressor cuts out any signal that is below the threshold level.

Set the attack very fast about 0 ms , and set the release fast too ms. Set the compressor knee to 1, if you have a knee adjustment. This is the most gradual change in volume reduction, so the effect sounds natural. For a more noticeable, mechanical effect, turn the knee towards 0. Another trick we could do: add an EQ to the bus to select which frequencies of reverb we want to remove from the recording.

By following these pretty easy steps, you can get rid of more reverb in your signal. But keep in mind that the result will not be quite perfect. A certain amount of echo will still be present. Just follow the described principles, and you will get more or less the results you need. If you have the task of getting rid of reverb from beats or drum loops , we can advise another way. First, you will need the Enveloper plugin , which is also stocked in Logic Pro X. Basically , it is designed for adjusting the attack , decay , and sustain of percussion elements.

But you can also try to use it to remove unnecessary echoes. Note that this method can work if your tracks have only a small amount of reverb. Unfortunately , it will be complicated to get results if the echo is very noticeable.
