Turned out that after I sprayed the contacts of the date logger with contact cleaner the problem was solved. Up until then I was really at a loss about the cause. I went to bed last night with my Vantage Pro2 console working normally.

I have re-set the display, switched off the mains connection, removed the batteries, left the console for a few minutes; and then replaced the batteries and plugged the mains cable back in. The console restarted with about 6 beeps but still displays everything and therefore is unreadable.

My Vantage pro 2 shows low console battery. There is no battery on the weather station. The room mounted display is powered with batteries and transformed v supply. Any ideas?? I turned it upside down and it work??? Is there adjustments that can be done? Around July 1st the temperature sensor tarted going bad displaying way higher than expected readings. Any way I can just get a temperature only sensor that will work? I hate to just throw the whole thing away since I have replaced the wind sensors and had the precipitation sensor repaired.

I have an old Wizard wireless weather station. The wind speed has stopped registering on the console after the freeze in Texas. The anemometer still turns and the unit is over 20 years old. I use it to monitor windspeed and direction only. This goes on top of portable stages. However someone has lost the junction box that goes between the base unit and the anemometer. Do you have any idea what wire connects to what inside the junction box?

I have a vantage pro 2 and it is showing Low Battery Station 5. Also both consoles are plugged into AC power. What could be the problem. I used to be able to adj it. Peterson, Ok so we recently installed a new Davis weather station.

I went to unplug the AC power adapter and received a shock. I touched the display unit, with the cord still unplugged and received another shock.

This cell normally contains enough power to last months by itself, but the sensor suite also has a small solar panel that will power the transmitter during a sunny day. Weather station problems can be divided into two distinct categories: Problems that show up during or soon after installation, and problems that appear after the system has been in use for a period of time.

Although the installation process for most home weather stations is designed to be simple and straightforward, things can and do go wrong.

Some homeowners opt for a less expensive system, especially if it is their first weather station. Many less expensive units are of higher quality than expected, but they fall short on information in their user manuals and installation guides. Make every effort to read and understand the instructions before you begin the installation.

Sensor suites with separately housed components tend to be more versatile because the individual sensors can be mounted for the greatest accuracy, however, self-contained units are much easier to install.

With a self-contained unit, all of the connections between the individual sensors and the transmitting unit are made at the factory, whereas the connections between separately housed components need to be made by the installer. Perhaps the most important connection is the one between the sensor suite and the base unit. If the system has a wired connection and both the sensor suite and the base unit are powering up properly, recheck the connections at either end.

If they are made properly, the connecting wire itself may be faulty. There are potentially more things to go wrong with a wireless system, but this is more than offset by the increased range and ease of installation. Some units will have a manual channel selection switch, ensure it is set the same on both the sending unit and the base station.

If both the sensor suite and base unit appear to be powering up properly but not communicating, bring the sending unit inside and place it near the base station. Power down both units by removing the batteries and disconnecting the charging units, leaving them powered down for twenty minutes to allow residual power to drain and the memories to reset.
